With the summer season approaching quickly and seeing that I will be getting some development support at WWDC in a few weeks, I have announced three projects that I will be working on. I hope to at least get some of these in a working state by the end of the season.

You can find all the information on these projects in the software section (link is above and in the menu bar). I will have project updates posted to that area from now on. The files in each project will either be posted there as well or with the project's official sponsor.

It's been a while since I've done any work with the M.A.M.E. project (heck, even played it!). I have a lot of catching up to do. Today, I finished installing Fedora 9 on my PC and decided to open up Xmame and play STUN Runner. I have forgotten how much fun it used to be when I was a kid.

The Xmame (Xwindows/X11) port of M.A.M.E. seems to have been abandoned. I hope to unofficially update the project to the current M.A.M.E. release.

Some of you know about the Auction Pro system I developed two years ago. I know many of you have been patiently waiting for some kind of update. I plan to abandon the MS Access Runtime environment and the Jet database engine to redesign it using MySQL and SQLite. And yes, I am creating a Mac version of this as well. In fact, MacOSX will be the new pilot platform of the system. I plan to incorporate the Cocoa API, Bonjour networking (multicast DNS), and Core Data (stand-alone data format) into this first "official" release. The Mac, Windows, and Linux versions will be able to talk seamlessly with each other in a network setup. I plan to build the Linux version at a later date.

Do I plan to sell it? I don't know when I will consider this but I do know that it will be a closed-source project for now.

Lastly, the OPS Project. I plan to have a 100% released build ready by the end of the summer. Already there are a few people using this and the reviews have been great. I hope to get a few more people on board this project. The more we get, the better it will be.
