 Posted: 2011-01-01 00:00:00 Over the last few weeks I've been catching up with old friends, those that meant a lot to me through my life, growing up through my childhood, high school, and the early years of college before getting absorbed into collegiate athletics, later returning to those old values and having to manage it. This is the time of year I get to look back at the things that mattered, the things that inspired the drive, the motivation to keep going, and most of all, see the road ahead. Sometimes we realize that life is passing too quickly and it's hard to do everything, let alone stay on track with your personal goals.
Many don't know where I came from. Granted, a lot of experience from this era before I started rowing was applied right here, to this sport, or should I say, Sports Management. There is such a thing. I didn't grow up as the typical "OC" boy. Didn't want to. Growing up with parents and grandparents that ran their own companies, I was exposed to the elements at a very young age, perhaps too young. It has been a big year in personal technology, from the debut and early success of Apple's iPad, to the rise and continuous improvement of Google's Android smart phone platform, to the continued surge in social services led by Facebook and Twitter.
So I thought I'd take a look at the challenges and opportunities facing some major players in consumer tech in 2011.  Posted: 2010-12-25 00:00:00 For those of you still reading this stuff, have a wonderful winter holiday. This is usually a time for me to reflect what mattered to me and inspired me to live life to the fullest. It's a time to forget about work, the classroom, and look back at the finer things in life.
The Ohlhaver family has once again met with the 32 cousins retruning home from college. It's the one and only time now that we actually act like kids again. I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa Ohlhaver are with us. :-)
Christmas Day will be spent with the rest of the Grams Family.
2011 is going to be a big change for me. Looks like I may be relocating out of California. More on this later.... Read the rest... |
